Gayle Sullivan, RN, JD

Registered Nurse & Attorney

Gayle Sullivan is a registered nurse and attorney with over 25 years of experience in the medical malpractice field. She has worked as a staff nurse, nursing supervisor, and hospital risk management consultant. Gayle has visited over one hundred hospitals, nursing homes and medical offices across the country to evaluate patient care. She fully understands the inner workings of these facilities and uses her unique knowledge to the advantage of our clients.

Gayle's expertise extends to all types of medical malpractice cases. She works closely with our medical malpractice clients and their families from the initial investigation to case resolution, whether by mediation or jury trial.  In addition she collaborates on all of our cases where it is important to understand the life-long impact of a significant injury.

Gayle's professional accomplishments include serving on the Editorial Board of RN Nursing Journal, serving on the Board of Directors of The American Association of Nurse Attorneys Connecticut Chapter, and chairing the Bylaws Committee of the Connecticut Nurses' Association. Gayle is a frequent author of articles and textbook chapters on malpractice and a national presenter on legal issues in health care.

" I became a registered nurse and a lawyer because my grandmother and mother were nurses, and I grew up understanding first-hand how nurses make a difference in people's lives-not just as healthcare providers, but also as advocates. I believed that I could be an even better patient advocate as a nurse-attorney, and so I went to law school while I worked as a registered nurse.  I have worked for many years with doctors, nurses, hospitals and nursing homes to prevent patient injuries. Now I use my combined knowledge of nursing and law to our clients' advantage-to help injured people and their families get a just recovery when they are hurt by someone else's negligence."
